FAQs for Interior Designer, Selections Consultant, and Architects
Parkwood doors have unique benefits and advantages that you won’t find in other doors. Here are the common questions that we find Interior Designer, Selections Consultant, and Architects asking us about Parkwood front doors. We’ve tried to cover all key areas where Interior Designer, Selections Consultant, and Architects want to know if there are differences or things that may affect them in their role.
Can we offer dark colours?
Yes, aluminium front doors can be powder coated any dark colour you like, including Monument or black in full, Westerly sun! There are no restrictions to what colour or what facing or situation that these doors can be in.
Timber doors in Cedar must be painted or stained a lighter colour and are not warranted in a dark stain/paint. This is because any direct sunlight will heat the door faster in a dark colour and could cause the timber to move or crack.
Timber doors in Emberwood timber can be stained a dark colour, as Emberwood is a thermally modified timber meaning it is more resistant to movement.
Can you do special Design?
We can customise solid timber front doors and price up unique designs. However, our specialty is the wide range of designs we currently offer.
Aluminium door designs may be able to be tweaked a little, but have less scope to be changed than timber.
We can make our doors to any size and colour that you require (within our parameters for reliability).
Please contact us if you’d like to enquire about a special design.

Aluminium front doors can be powder coated to a colour of your client’s choice. This includes all
the Colourbond colours and powder coat colours the window supplier offers. For more

Can you help me update my selection system?
Yes, we can provide marketing assets like door tile images for you to update your selections booklets, or we can even create a customised flyer with your specific range and specifications you allow for, so you can use it as a tool to help clients select their option.
The same goes with showroom samples.
Can you do Dual Colour?
Yes, aluminium front doors come in a thermally enhanced version that has a thermally broken edge (Thermtek), meaning the inside is separated from the outside by a rubber clip system. This allows us to powder coat the inside of the door a different colour to the outside face.
