Glass Orientation – When determining which piece of glass goes to the outside of a Double Glazed Unit, the coloured or obscure glass is on the outside of unit (surface 1 & 2), the clear or LOW E glass is on the inside (surface 3 & 4).

The higher up the following list the glass is, the more priority to the outside:

  • Reflective (eg. stopsol)
  • Grey Tint
  • Bronze Tint
  • Green Tint
  • Etchlite
  • Translucent Laminate
  • Clear Laminate
  • Spotswood
  • Cathedral
  • Satinlite
  • Mistlite
  • Clear
  • Low E (low E side goes to surface 3)
