FAQs for Estimator, Procurement, and Administrators

Parkwood doors have unique benefits and advantages that you won’t find in other doors.  Here are the common questions that we find Estimator, Procurement, and Administrators asking us about Parkwood front doors.  We’ve tried to cover all key areas where Estimator, Procurement, and Administrators want to know if there are differences or things that may affect them in their role.

How do we get Prices?

Your Parkwood Account Manager will go through which doors you want to allow for in your inclusions and arrange pricing for you through your preferred merchant and/or window supplier if they also supply front doors or front door frames.

Who is going to give me the Special quotes quickly?

Parkwood have a full-time Quoting/Estimations team who can turn around prices within half a working day. You can contact them or your Account Manager direct, or contact your merchant, and Parkwood will arrange those special prices through your merchant. Normally we are able to supply builder rates direct to you, but the final purchase can be done via your merchant to ensure you receive the benefits they offer, like site delivery at call-up, single purchasing account etc.

Do you only supply standard size doors?

All aluminium powder coated front doors and solid timber doors are made to order, so standard sizes aren’t necessary, although larger doors still cost more. However, composite Duramax doors have standard sizes are they are a lot more price effective in standard sizes.

What details we need to know at the time of order?

Please refer to our separate order form and ordering instructions. In short, as most of our doors are custom-made in a variety of finishes and colours, we need to know which material, colour, size, hung side and glass type. If you’d like us to pre-drill for the lock (supplied by you or us), we’d need to know the lock brand and product code.

What other features do you offer? (Size and Hardware)

All doors are made to at least 2400 x 1200mm, but many doors are made up to 3m high and 1.5m wide.
Hardware can be supplied by you, and pre-machined by us (save time and hassle on site!), or Parkwood can supply and machine.

Can we use our own Hardware?

Yes, you can use your own standard hardware. Parkwood can pre-machine for this in our factory. We have hundreds of locks in our machining details library so it most cases is straightforward – you just specify the lock brand and code on your order, and we’ll machine it at standard height, unless you state otherwise. We don’t machine for pull handles as they’re a simple drill hole and their placement is very customer-specific.

Can we use our own Frames?

Yes, composite Duramax and solid timber doors can be hung in standard timber frames.
Aluminium doors need to be hung in aluminium frames, which either be supplied pre-hung by Parkwood, or hung into your aluminium window fabricator hinged door frames (lots of fabricators are now supplying the front door frame with their windows, and often supply the front door as well, all pre-fitted into the frame for you).

What’s your Lead time?

4-5 weeks including delivery for a custom-made door.
